Red
Armanna
By Emanuele Gambino, Asti, Piemonte, Italy
A Barbera Nizza Riserva from the San Nicolao cru at Nizza Monferrato, aged 24 months in barriques and tonneaux.
Tasting notes
Deep ruby red with garnet reflections. Intense, refined nose that needs air; wood notes dominate, with vanilla, sweet liquorice, nutmeg and soft spices. Warm, supple and powerful on the palate, well balanced, with vanilla on the retro-olfaction and a long life ahead.
Pairs well with
Game such as wild boar, other hearty meat courses, and traditional bagna cauda (with garlic and no cream).
