Red
Cisterna d'Asti
By Casa Tallone, Asti, Piemonte, Italy
Croatina from the vines next to the family home in San Damiano d'Asti, described by the brothers as their wine of the heart. About 1,900 to 2,400 bottles a year, plus 54 magnums.
Tasting notes
Intense ruby red. Intense, fruity, characteristic nose with varietal spice. The fruit fills the palate with finesse, fresh and pleasant entry, crunchy finish, herbaceous and vibrant tannin.
Pairs well with
Meat and vegetable starters (raw Piedmontese beef, roasted pumpkin, cardoon flan with fonduta), simple first courses (tajarin with rabbit ragu), white or rare red meats (baked rabbit, roast guinea fowl).
