Pure Barbera from Cappellette, fermented and aged in French oak barriques for about 14 months.
Tasting notes
Colour: full, dense ruby red taking on garnet hues with age. Nose: broad, intense and very complex, with plum jam, floral hints, vanilla, tobacco and spice. Palate: full, ample and structured, very soft, with very long persistence.

Game, braised and salmi dishes, mushrooms, aged cheeses

- Partly vineyards of about 40 years, partly recent plantings on low-vigour clones and rootstocks, in the Cappellette locality; about 5,000 vines per hectare, low Guyot training; thinned at veraison depending on the vintage
- Vinification
- Controlled-temperature maceration for 15 days with intense, frequent pump-overs; after racking and a first transfer, alcoholic fermentation is completed and malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak barriques, two thirds new. Ages about 14 months in barrique and a further 6 months in bottle.
