La Serra
By Agostino Bosco, Barolo, Piemonte, Italy
Barolo from La Serra, a historic cru of La Morra facing south-east at about 400 m on tufaceous, clay-limestone soil, aged 25 to 26 months in large Slavonian oak.
Tasting notes
Garnet red of good intensity. Clear aromas of plum and small fruits, light touches of liquorice and spice. Good body and harmonious, with a slight tannic edge that points to a long life. The site adds for La Serra: complex aromas of red-fruit jam and cherries in spirit, with spicy notes.
