Viotti Vini
Viotti Vini is a family farm in Castel Rocchero, in the hills of Asti province between Nizza Monferrato and Acqui Terme. The Viottis count seven generations in the vines and date their first bottle to 1969. Bianca Viotti now runs the work with her father Guido. The cellar was among the first to bottle Albarossa, the Barbera and Nebbiolo cross, from 2000, and uses it for a red, a rosé and a rosé sparkling wine. Barbera has its own line, from Cà Nova to the Nizza Riserva, alongside sweet Moscato and Brachetto and two Alta Langa sparklers. Vines stand at 380 metres on calcareous marl and the farm has held SQNPI integrated-production certification since 2016. In the cellar they rely on native yeasts, leave the marc unpressed and neither filter nor fine. Each label carries a drawing by family friend Walter Pozzebon.
