Giovanni Corino

Giovanni Corino

In 1952 Celeste Corino moved with his wife and children to the Annunziata hamlet of La Morra, working as a sharecropper and tending vineyards and fruit trees. His son Giovanni founded the current estate, focusing increasingly on the vineyards, and in the mid-1980s Giovanni's son Giuliano, now the owner, joined the business and the first Barolo bottles were produced. Since 1987 the estate has combined a traditional sense of place with thinning in the vineyard, short temperature-controlled fermentations and aging in small French oak barrels. Today the estate farms 9 hectares of vineyard in the municipality of La Morra, producing about 50,000 bottles a year, and is run by Giuliano with his wife Stefania and their children Veronica and Andrea.
