Gaudio - Bricco Mondalino

Gaudio - Bricco Mondalino

Gaudio is a family winery in Vignale Monferrato, in the Monferrato hills of Alessandria province, built around the Bricco Mondalino cellar. Amilcare Gaudio spent a lifetime as an oenologist for other producers before deciding, at 63, to build his own cellar. His son Mauro, a chemical engineer, joined him and changed the original plan of buying grapes, choosing instead to acquire vineyard plots for their exposure and terroir rather than their closeness to the winery. Today Mauro's daughter Beatrice works as oenologist, sales manager and grower, alongside oenologist and agronomist Matteo Macchi, who runs production and the cellar. The estate focuses on native Monferrato varieties, led by Grignolino, sells only bottled wine and lives by the motto Bibe Cum Gaudio, drink with joy.
