Bric Cenciurio
Bric Cenciurio is a family estate that takes its name from a historic vineyard in Roero, where Franco Pittatore and his brother-in-law Carlo Sacchetto joined their land in 1990 to farm sites in both Barolo and Roero. Their sons Alessandro and Alberto, trained in oenology, now run the estate. Vineyards in Barolo, Castellinaldo and Magliano Alfieri are worked by hand, with part of the land left wooded rather than pushed for yield. The range centers on Barolo, drawn from several sites including the Coste di Rose and Monrobiolo di Bussia crus and a bottling named for the Pittatore family, alongside Roero Arneis, Barbera d'Alba, Langhe Nebbiolo, Pinot Nero and Riesling, two sparkling wines, and a partially fermented must called Birbet. Barolo itself is a Nebbiolo DOCG in the Langhe hills of Cuneo province, while Roero lies across the Tanaro river, known for sandy soils and the white Arneis grape.
