Red
Barbera d'Alba
By Marello, Langhe, Piemonte, Italy
Single-variety Barbera from the family's own vineyard in Montelupo Albese, aged for some months in steel and wood. Alcohol 14 to 15% vol depending on vintage.
Tasting notes
Dry, warm and full-bodied; ruby red when young, turning garnet with time. Intense winey nose with fruit such as blackberry and cherry; the full palate tempers the variety's typical acidity.
Pairs well with
Game, roasts, boiled meats and spicy cheeses
