Red
Tornato
By I Dof Mati, Alto Piemonte, Piemonte, Italy
Tornato is a pure Merlot, an unusual variety for the Colline Novaresi, vivid and intense with ripe red fruit from all-steel vinification. Its name plays on a pawn's transformation on a chessboard, a nod to the freshness it surprises with on the palate.
Tasting notes
A particularly vivid, intense red. The bouquet opens with aromas of ripe red fruit alongside the variety's delicate vegetal notes, preserved by traditional all-steel vinification; on the palate it shows unexpected savouriness and minerality.
Pairs well with
Excellent with first courses, and with red and white meat.
