Sparkling
Marchesa Virginia
By Cascina Faletta, Monferrato, Piemonte, Italy
Marchesa Virginia is a Metodo Classico sparkling Pinot Nero (Piemonte DOC) aged 48 months on the lees.
Tasting notes
Elegant, refined yet intense and persistent; 36 months on the lees give notes of raspberry and bread crust, with a subtle perlage and a savory, fresh, harmonious flavour; pink colour with onion-skin nuances, rich foam with small red fruit and floral notes, a persistent freshness and a bitter blueberry-skin finish. Note: the English technical sheet states the colour as 'golden yellow with copper reflection', which conflicts with both language versions' tasting notes describing a pink/rosé colour.
