Cascina Faletta
Cascina Faletta is a historic farmhouse estate in Casale Monferrato, in the Monferrato hills, run by Elena Novarino and Giovanni Rosso. A ceramic plaque above the entrance carries the date 1881, and the owners have restored the buildings with period floors, ceilings and furniture. A document records that in 1957 the estate received a prize as an excellent wine estate. Their son Lorenzo looks after the wine as cellar master and grower. The range covers Grignolino, Barbera, Pinot Nero, Syrah, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio, in still and sparkling versions, and the wines are named after the estate's history, from Marchesa Virginia, its first owner, to the 3 Fucili. Alongside the cellar there is a restaurant and a bed and breakfast, and visitors can taste the wines and see the historic cellar.
