Sottocastello di Novello

By Ca' Viola, Dogliani, Piemonte, Italy

Ca' Viola Sottocastello di Novello

The estate's first Barolo, first vintage 2006, from its own vineyard at Novello.

Tasting notes

Fairly deep ruby with an orange tinge on the rim. Balsamic and spicy nose with clear undergrowth, minty and ethereal hints, chocolate and tobacco. Very elegant and silky on the palate, with a rich structure and dense fruit that lasts into a long, harmonious finish.
