Sparkling
Sivà
By Abrigo Fratelli, Langhe, Piemonte, Italy
Abrigo Fratelli's Metodo Classico sparkling wine, 100% Chardonnay from a plot in Sinio planted in 1997, aged a minimum 36 months on the lees.
Tasting notes
Colour: clear, fairly intense straw yellow with golden reflections. Fine, quite persistent perlage. Bouquet: intense and broad, fine, herbaceous, fruity of apple and pineapple bordering on apricot, floral of elderflower, delicate bread crust intertwined with a slight hint of beeswax. Taste: sweetish, not very warm on entry but very smooth, with bread crust, apple and warm pineapple, resin and beeswax spiciness, a mineral note and vibrant freshness, soft and enveloping rather than sharp.
Pairs well with
As an aperitif or to accompany toasts on special occasions
