Abrigo Fratelli Barbera d'Alba Superiore

Abrigo Fratelli's Barbera d'Alba Superiore, aged at least a year in used oak casks and barriques from a single 0.6 ha plot planted in 2001.

Tasting notes

Colour: clear, very intense ruby red with purple highlights. Bouquet: very intense and complex, fine spices of pepper and vanilla with a herbaceousness, fine blackberry and jam fruitiness, cinnamon and clove. Taste: dry, warm and soft, opening with spice then ripe blackberry and blueberry, good acidity, silky tannin, vanilla and a hint of oak, robust but well-balanced body, fine, intense and persistent.

Stewed and boiled red meat dishes, rich sauces, cured meats
