Molino

Molino

Molino is a family estate in Treiso, one of the Barbaresco communes. It was founded in 1991, when Virginio Molino, originally from San Damiano d'Asti, bought a small parcel and a cellar there with his sons Tommaso, Franco and Dario. Dario is the estate's oenologist, Tommaso looks after marketing and Franco manages the vineyards with low-impact methods. Marco joined in 2013 and Francesca in 2023. The family farms 16 hectares in three places: the Ausario hill in Treiso, on chalky clay with grey marl, for Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and Chardonnay, Piedelmonte in Guarene, under the castle, for Arneis, and Loreto in Costigliole d'Asti for Barbera d'Asti and Moscato d'Asti. The vineyards are surrounded by forest to protect biodiversity. The range runs from Langhe Nebbiolo and Barbera d'Alba to Barbaresco Teorema, Ausario and Ausario Riserva, with a Barolo and a grappa alongside.
