Franco Ivaldi

Franco Ivaldi is a family winery in Caranzano di Cassine, in the Alto Monferrato hills of the province of Alessandria, about ten minutes from Acqui Terme. Franco, born in Savona to Piemontese parents who owned a small vineyard holding in Caranzano di Cassine, began his winemaking venture in 1995 and built a new winery next to the family vineyards in 2003. The estate is run together with his wife Cati and his son Giorgio, an oenologist with a degree in viticultural and oenological sciences. The winery grows the traditional Monferrato and Piemonte varieties Barbera, Dolcetto, Moscato, Nebbiolo, Cortese and Chardonnay, alongside Freisa and Albarossa, and its energy needs are met almost entirely by a photovoltaic system.
