Cascina Lanzarotti

Cascina Lanzarotti

Cascina Lanzarotti has farmed its home hill in Monteu Roero since 1883, and the Ferrero family, now in its fourth generation, still runs the estate. It sits in the Roero, the hill country on the left bank of the Tanaro known for its sandy, marine-fossil soils, the same sands that shape the minerality of the estate's Roero Arneis. The range is built in four lines: Classici (Roero Arneis, Langhe Nebbiolo, Barbera d'Alba), Cru (single-site Arlass, Bin Fait, Pujina and a rosato, Fior di Pesco), Terroir (the Riserva bottlings Sette Gennaio and Carlinöt, plus a traditional-method sparkling Soelì) and Fantasia, two small-volume specialities: the lightly fermented Birbét and a passito-style Bicerin da Vija from late-picked grapes. Vineyards across the estate range from 15 to 40 years old. Cascina Lanzarotti holds Equalitas sustainability certification and keeps birdhouses built with a local social cooperative among its vines.
