Bruno Rocca
Bruno Rocca is a family estate on the Rabajà hill, at the southern entrance to the village of Barbaresco. Notarial documents place the Rocca family in Barbaresco from 1834, and in 1958 the farm moved to Rabajà, which is still its home and its flagship cru. Bruno began bottling under the family name with the 1978 harvest, and his children Luisa and Francesco now work beside him. More Barbaresco comes from Currà and Marcorino, both in Neive, and there are Riservas from Rabajà and Currà. The rest of the range is Langhe Nebbiolo, Barbera d'Alba, Dolcetto d'Alba, a Langhe Chardonnay and a Langhe Rosato. Grapes are picked by hand into small ventilated crates, and each vineyard is vinified separately. Barbaresco received its DOCG in 1980, and its hills joined the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2014.
