Sparkling
Blanc de Blanc
By Poderi dei Bricchi Astigiani, Asti, Piemonte, Italy
The estate's Metodo Classico Blanc de Blanc, made entirely from Chardonnay grown in Piemonte and aged 24 months on the lees.
Tasting notes
Straw yellow with golden reflections and a fine, continuous perlage, evidence of extended aging on the lees. The bouquet is fresh, elegant and complex, with delicate floral notes of white flowers, followed by aromas of fresh fruit such as green apple, pear and citrus; hints of bread crust and yeast add a toasty, slightly buttery nuance. On the palate it stands out for its freshness and minerality: creamy and enveloping, with a lively acidity that balances the soft structure of the Chardonnay, and a long, dry, clean finish with a delicately fruity aftertaste and a hint of almond.
Pairs well with
Excellent as an aperitif, and pairs well with seafood appetizers, raw fish, shellfish, delicate first courses and fresh cheeses.
