Colour: ruby red tending to garnet. Scent: winy, sometimes ethereal and characteristic. Taste: dry.

Pairs with a wide range of dishes, from pasta with ragout, mushroom sauce or truffle to white and red meats; also recommended with cheeses, preferably hard and aged ones.
