Freisa
By Bartolo Mascarello, Barolo, Piemonte, Italy
Freisa is a native Piemontese variety the Mascarello family has continued to champion even as many neighbours replanted their plots to Nebbiolo.
Tasting notes
Tar and rose aromas with anise, crushed raspberry, dried herbs and liquorice. Juicy on the palate with firm, rustic tannins integrated into an elegant frame.
