Malabaila di Canale
The Malabaila are a noble family from Asti present in the Canale area since the 1200s, with the family's first vineyard purchase documented in 1362. Today the estate is run by Lucrezia Carrega Malabaila, a direct descendant, together with Valerio Alfredo Falletti. The property covers about 65 hectares, of which 22 are planted to vineyard, with the rest occupied by hazelnut groves and oak and chestnut woods. The estate follows a philosophy of respecting tradition, the environment and biodiversity, avoiding herbicides and using natural fertilization, and each wine label carries an original painting by Lucrezia.
