Erpacrife

Erpacrife

Erpacrife is a friendship turned winery. Erik Dogliotti, Paolo Stella, Cristian Calatroni and Federico Scarzello met at the wine school in Alba, grew up in their families' cellars, and in 2000 put their own names on a bet: a sparkling Nebbiolo. The first label was about 500 bottles, and the name is built from the opening syllables of the four first names.

The range is metodo classico only, built on Piemonte grapes: a Nebbiolo rosé with no dosage, a long-aged Riserva of it, a white blended from Timorasso, Cortese, Erbaluce and Moscato, and a sweet Moscato. Most of it comes from one hectare planted in 1985 at Madonna di Como, a hamlet of Alba, at 400 metres on an east-facing slope of calcareous sandy soil. The company address is in Castagnole delle Lanze, in the Asti hills, a village long tied to Moscato.
