Red
Cannubi
By E. Pira & Figli - Chiara Boschis, Barolo, Piemonte, Italy
Single-vineyard Barolo from the producer's 0.7 ha in Cannubi, made from the Michet and Lampia subvarieties of Nebbiolo. Matured at least 2 years in oak and about 1 year in bottle.
Tasting notes
Colour: clear, lively garnet red. Nose: sweet ripe fruit (cherries, plums) and spice with a balsamic note of mint and eucalyptus; ethereal, persistent, floral and fruity. Palate: dry, savoury and harmonious, soft but austere, full and persistent thanks to the tannin; warm and powerful but elegant.
Pairs well with
Furred and feathered game, braised meat, jugged hare, aged cheeses and truffle dishes. A wine for contemplation.
