Viticoltori Associati di Rodello
Anna Anselmo runs this nine-hectare farm in the Vaj hamlet, in a small valley below the village of Rodello, on the road that links Alba with the Alta Langa and Liguria. Dolcetto is the main grape, with Barbera, Nebbiolo, Pinot Nero and Arneis alongside. The vineyards are grassed to keep the soil loose, organic fertiliser is used when needed, and sprays are limited to copper sulphate and sulphur. Grapes are picked by hand into crates and destemmed and crushed in the cellar.
The list runs from three Dolcetto d'Alba bottlings (Dolcetto, Camp'Vigin and Deserto) to Barbera, Langhe Nebbiolo, the Vaj blend, Pinot Nero, Arneis and a Metodo Classico. Rodello sits in the Langhe hills south-west of Alba, in Dolcetto d'Alba country.
