Tenuta San Lorenzo

Tenuta San Lorenzo

Tenuta San Lorenzo is a family estate run by the Cazzulo cousins Mirella and Corrado, the third generation to farm here. Their grandfather Attilio began making wine for the local market in the early 1900s, and his sons Luigi and Giambattista bought the property in 1966. A 17th-century land register places the farm on this spot, then called Il Grattone. Today about 18 hectares of vines supply Gavi DOCG from Cortese, a Piemonte Barbera, a Monferrato Dolcetto and a Charmat-method Brut. Corrado looks after vineyard and cellar, Mirella handles sales, events and hospitality.

The estate stands on the old road from Novi Ligure towards Monterotondo, in one of the eleven communes where Gavi DOCG may be made. Novi Ligure lies in the Oltregiogo, the historic borderland between Liguria and southern Piemonte.
