Monsignore

Monsignore

Monsignore is a Metodo Classico project in Vicoforte, on the southern edge of the Langhe. It sits in a historic summer residence built for the Bishop of Mondovì, which the Blengini family has looked after since 1916. Giuseppe Blengini and Roberta Ceretto chose to work with Alta Langa from 2010. The estate lies at about 600 metres, between the Monviso mountains and the influence of the sea. Of its 100 hectares, 15 are planted to Chardonnay and Pinot Nero for Alta Langa, and since 2019 a few small growers in Canelli, Santo Stefano Belbo, Trezzo Tinella and Bossolasco have joined in. The single wine, Monsignore, is a vintage extra brut aged 30 months on the lees, with the varieties vinified separately. The label is by the artist Francesco Clemente.
