Mauro Sebaste

Mauro Sebaste

Mauro Sebaste founded his winery in Alba in 1991, after leaving the family business that his mother, Sylla Dogliani, known as "La Dama di Langa", had started in Barolo. His wife Maria Teresa works alongside him, and since 2018 their daughters Sylla and Angelica have joined, with a third generation already waiting. The cellar is in the hamlet of Gallo, between Alba and Grinzane Cavour.

The family farms 30 hectares in more than ten communes across the Langhe, Roero and the Asti Monferrato, and makes around 150,000 bottles a year. Barolo comes mainly from Serralunga d'Alba, with further vines in La Morra, Verduno and Monforte. Barbera, Dolcetto and Nebbiolo grow at Santa Rosalia in Alba, Barbera for Nizza around Vinchio and Nizza Monferrato, and Alta Langa is the newest wine and the family's first sparkling. Ageing is in large casks and tonneaux only. Grappa from their own pomace completes the range.
