Marco Crivelli

Marco Crivelli

Crivelli is a family farm in Castagnole Monferrato, in the Asti hills. The story starts around 1860, when Secondo Crivelli moved here from the nearby hamlet of Serra Crivelli and settled on two hectares. Marco Maria Crivelli took over in 1979 and enlarged the vineyard, and a bigger cellar went up in the 1990s. Today his son Jonathan and Jonathan's wife run it. Ten hectares of Ruchè, Grignolino, Barbera and Syrah are farmed, eight of them on the Montiò hill, without weedkillers, desiccants or anti-botrytis sprays. The range is short: Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato, Grignolino d'Asti, Barbera d'Asti and Agoghè, a Ruchè and Syrah blend aged in barriques. Castagnole Monferrato is a village in the province of Asti, and the home of the Ruchè grape.
