Cascina Salicetti

Cascina Salicetti

Cascina Salicetti is a 42-hectare estate in a single block at Montegioco, on a sunny hill in the pre-Apennine foothills of eastern Piemonte. Fifteen hectares are planted to vines, which have been the main activity since the early 1900s. Pietro Franzosi converted the farm to specialised vineyards over the last three decades, and Anselmo, the winemaker, has carried on his work, selecting the best plots and modernising the cellar. The range is entirely DOC: Cortese and Timorasso among the whites, Barbera, Dolcetto and Piemonte Bonarda among the reds, some in steel and some aged in French oak barriques. Montegioco sits a few kilometres from Tortona, in the Colli Tortonesi, the hills where Timorasso has been revived in recent decades.
