Cantina del Dolcetto di Dogliani

Cantina del Dolcetto di Dogliani

Cantina del Dolcetto di Dogliani is a cooperative set up in 1978 by a group of local growers who wanted to pool the work of turning grapes into wine and selling it. Today about 90 active members farm roughly 100 hectares across Dogliani, Farigliano, Belvedere Langhe, Briaglia and Bastia, all inside the Dogliani DOCG zone, on alternating sandstone and clay soils. Dolcetto is the heart of the range, bottled as Dogliani Superiore, as single-name Dogliani wines such as Podere, San Matè and Doujot, and as Langhe Dolcetto. The list also takes in Barbera, Langhe Nebbiolo, a Barolo, Roero Arneis, Favorita, Moscato d'Asti, two sparklings and table wine in bag-in-box packs. Dogliani lies in the southern Langhe, in the province of Cuneo, a cooler stretch of hills than the Alba side.
