Battaglio - Briccogrilli

Battaglio-Briccogrilli is a family estate in Vezza d'Alba, in the heart of the Roero, a few kilometres from Alba. Grandfather Giovanni, known as Giuanin d'la Funtana, already made wine alongside a peach orchard, and today Mario Battaglio, Lidia Lequio and Gianluca Battaglio carry the work on, with Gianluca as winemaker. The vineyards climb the sandy hills of Vezza, including the Valmaggiore zone known for Nebbiolo and the slopes near the Madonna dei Boschi sanctuary, with a second holding in the Serragrilli hamlet of Neive for Barbaresco. The range covers Roero Arneis Piasì, Dolcetto d'Alba Grilli, Barbera d'Alba Madunina, Nebbiolo d'Alba, Barbaresco and Barbaresco Riserva Serragrilli, plus a Metodo Classico Arneis called Gretel and a Moscato d'Asti.
