La Vita è Bella
By Casa La Bella Vita, Asti, Piemonte, Italy
Il Vino Bello rating: 4 / 5
The only Barbera d'Asti Superiore produced in Isola d'Asti, and the sole wine of Casa La Bella Vita. Only around 300 bottles are made each year from the estate's old vines, crafted with winemaker Giovanni Scaglione. Vintages so far are '21, '22, '23 and '24.
Tasting notes
Deep ruby red. Red fruit and cherry on the nose with liquorice, vanilla and black pepper, leading to an earthy, spicy palate. A bold, structured Barbera with the richness of the Superiore designation.
Pairs well with
Made for the estate table: hand-rolled pasta, slow home cooking and grilled meats.
