Rizzi
Rizzi takes its name from the hill and cru it stands on, a short drive from Treiso towards Alba. Ernesto Dellapiana left Turin to farm the family land and made the first vintage in 1974. His wife Lia and their children Jole and Enrico work with him, Enrico running the vineyards and cellar. The estate farms 44 hectares between 220 and 430 metres, half of it Nebbiolo for Barbaresco, the rest Dolcetto, Barbera, Moscato, Freisa, Chardonnay and Pinot Nero. The Barbaresco comes from the crus Rizzi (including Vigna Boito), Nervo and Pajorè, aged in large 50 hectolitre barrels and old cement tanks so that wood stays in the background. The range also includes Langhe Nebbiolo, Barbera d'Alba, Dolcetto d'Alba, Langhe Chardonnay, Alta Langa and Moscato d'Asti. Treiso is one of the villages of the Barbaresco denomination.
