Renato Fenocchio

Renato Fenocchio

Renato Fenocchio farms in Neive, in the Langhe hills of Cuneo province, and describes himself simply as a farmer. The estate bottles everything it grows under the name Az. Agr. Fenocchio Renato, and the labels say the wines are unfiltered. The range runs from Dolcetto d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba, Langhe Nebbiolo and Langhe Arneis to a Langhe Rosso called Aurora, with a plain Barbaresco and three single-name Barbarescos: Basarin, Rombone and Starderi. Several labels carry paintings, among them work credited to Rama Mancardi and ZeBO Art on the Rombone and Basarin back labels. The site's one statement of intent is that wine comes from soil, plants, sun, clouds, wind and rain, from skilled hands and memory, and a lot of patience. Neive is one of the communes of the Barbaresco denomination, and sits in the Langhe a short drive north-east of Alba.
