Nico Priano

Nico Priano

Soltufo is the small natural-wine estate of Nico Priano. It began in 2016 as a way to make good, clean wine for home drinking from abandoned vineyards, and was made official in 2020. Today a little over four hectares of Dolcetto, Barbera and Cortese are farmed on white marl hills facing Monte Tobbio, with breezes coming up from the Ligurian Sea. The ground is kept grassed, only sulphur and copper are used in the vineyard, and the grapes are picked by hand into small crates. In the cellar nothing synthetic or oenological is added. The wines are bottled as plain vino rosso, bianco and rosato, and include a Cortese orange wine, two rosés and a sparkling Barbera. The estate is certified organic and a member of VinNatur.
