Fratelli Grimaldi - Ca'du Sindic

Fratelli Grimaldi - Ca'du Sindic

Fratelli Grimaldi, known for its Ca' du Sindic Moscato d'Asti, is a family estate on the San Grato hill in Santo Stefano Belbo, the Moscato village in the Cuneo hills where Cesare Pavese was born. The family goes back to Carlo Grimaldi in the late 1800s; Sergio began bottling his own Moscato d'Asti in 1989, and Paolo and Ilaria now work in vineyard and cellar. They farm 20 hectares on four hills, Moncucco, San Grato, San Maurizio and Bauda, on marl and sand, under integrated pest management (SQNPI certified), with Moscato vines more than a hundred years old on San Maurizio and Moncucco. Besides the single-vineyard Moscato d'Asti the range includes VENTUNO Brut sparklings, a 36-month Alta Langa, Dolcetto d'Alba, Chardonnay, Cortese and the Montaldi Moscato passito.
