Cascina Morassino

Cascina Morassino

Cascina Morassino is a family estate in Barbaresco, founded in 1984 by Mauro Bianco. Three earlier generations of the family had already made wine from the Ovello vineyard, and Mauro's son Roberto Bianco now runs the cellar. Of the 4.5 hectares, 3.5 lie in the Ovello zone and one in the Cottà zone across the border in Neive. The estate makes two Nebbiolo wines, both Barbaresco DOCG: Ovello, from the vineyard the family has worked for generations, and Morassino, which comes from Cottà. Ovello is one of the best-known subzones of Barbaresco, a village a short drive from Alba where the Tanaro valley opens onto the Langhe hills.
