Borgogno Rivata
Borgogno Rivata farms vineyards in two neighbouring corners of the Unesco-listed Langhe and Roero hills, at La Morra and Guarene. The producer says the two sites sit only a few miles apart but differ a good deal in soil, and the wines are built to show that difference. The cellar occupies a former family building once used to store farm machinery, kept as a link to earlier generations. The range is small and sold out on the site at the time of writing: a Barolo that draws half its fruit from the Boiolo cru, Langhe Nebbiolo, Barbera d'Alba, a Pelaverga-based Langhe Rosso and a Langhe Arneis made with a little skin contact. La Morra is one of the villages of the Barolo zone, while Guarene lies in the Roero.
