> Red, Barolo DOCG by [Roagna](https://ilvinobello.com/wineries/roagna.md), Barbaresco, Piemonte, Italy. From Il Vino Bello (https://ilvinobello.com/wines/roagna-vigna-rionda).

- **Producer:** Roagna
- **Style:** Red
- **Denomination:** Barolo DOCG
- **Grape:** Nebbiolo
- **Cru / vineyard:** Vigna Rionda
- **Production area:** Vigna Rionda MGA, Serralunga d'Alba, from a plot owned by grower Tommaso Canale.
- **Soil:** Rich in white limestone marl.
- **Vineyard planting:** Old vines, planted up until the end of the collaboration in 2010.
- **Vinification:** Each vineyard is picked once the grapes reach full physiological maturity, judged by the ripeness of the pips; harvest is by hand into small crates, and the fruit is given two manual selections before vinification. Fermentation runs about ten days in wooden vats with a pied de cuve of indigenous yeasts, followed by an ancient submerged-cap maceration of about 60 to 70 days, then roughly five years of ageing in neutral oak and concrete vats.
