## Summary

Barbera d'Asti Superiore, aged about a year in a 1,500 l Allier oak cask. 13.5% abv; the site lists the 2021 vintage at 13.50 EUR.

## Tasting notes

Elegant, fine wine. Cherry and sour cherry on the nose with light notes of vanilla, cooked and spirit-soaked fruit, toasted bread crust and balsamic hints. Particularly fine on the palate, balanced, with cherry and sour cherry, light balsamic notes and a velvety feel, and a pleasantly persistent finish.

## Food pairings

Suited to important dishes with white truffle, baked pasta, cheese fondues, meat, game, intensely flavoured soups and aged, spicy cheeses, especially Parmigiano Reggiano 24, 36 and 48 months. The producer suggests opening the bottle half an hour before drinking and using a decanter.
