## Summary

A single-vineyard-style Barbera del Monferrato from a sunny hillside at Rocca Grimalda and Carpeneto, grown for elegance and body.

## Tasting notes

Deep red with a purple rim. Intense, persistent, fine and varietal on the nose, with ripe blackberry, arbutus, almost-dried mountain herbs and a light note of liquorice. Dry, full-bodied, warm and properly astringent, persistent, with a bitterish finish.

## Food pairings

Best with roast, braised, boiled and pot-roasted meat, quail, hare and strong cheese.
