## Summary

A 100% Albarossa from Rocca Grimalda and Carpeneto, a Piemontese cross of Barbera and Nebbiolo di Dronero bred in 1938; built for long oak ageing.

## Tasting notes

Deep ruby red with purple nuances, turning more burgundy with age. Intense, wide and complex on the nose: ripe cherry, blueberry, arbutus, dried mountain herbs, light tobacco, black pepper and wood. Dry, full-bodied, warm and pleasantly astringent, with a long, bitterish finish.
