- **Producer:** Enrico Serafino
- **Style:** Sparkling
- **Denomination:** Alta Langa DOCG
- **Grape:** Pinot Noir 100%
- **Production area:** Mango, Trezzo Tinella, Loazzolo and Bubbio communes.
- **Soil:** Clay-limestone.
- **Exposure:** East, southeast, west and northwest facing.
- **Vineyard planting:** Guyot-trained vines 20 to 25 years old at 450 to 550 metres above sea level, 100% hand-harvested, farmed with sustainable viticulture.
- **Vinification:** Hand-sorted bunches are pressed in an inert nitrogen atmosphere for a free-run yield of about 45%, with no use of screw augers. The blend of still base wines is 85% from the 2018 vintage, aged 30 months on fine lees in steel until tirage in 2021, and 15% from vintages 2015 to 2020 also steel-aged, a method the estate calls "Perpetuelle Sbagliato", adapted from the perpetuelle solera method to fit Alta Langa DOCG rules. The must then rests 6 months on the lees with bâtonnage before the classic method second fermentation in bottle, aged on the lees for at least 30 months; the dosage liqueur added after disgorgement follows the estate's own recipe with no distillate.
- **Serving temperature:** 4-6°C
- **Storage:** Can age 10 to 12 years.
- **Last updated:** 2026-09-25

## Summary

M+M 18 Perpetuelle Sbagliato blends a majority of one still vintage with a smaller multi-vintage fraction where older wines, in the estate's words, "educate" the younger ones, a solera-inspired approach adapted to the Alta Langa DOCG's rules.

## Tasting notes

Pale straw yellow with hints of gold and a fine, persistent perlage, a broad, varied, deeply aromatic nose where autolysis notes from the lees meet toasted hazelnut, yellow flowers and white-fleshed fruit, and an inviting, juicy, concentrated yet elegant palate with pronounced acidity balanced by a full, persistent structure and a long saline finish.

## Food pairings

Good as an aperitif, recommended with shellfish.
