- **Soil:** Pale, sand-rich soil the locals call "sabbie astiane": clayey-calcareous marl of marine sedimentary origin, low in organic matter but rich in trace elements, especially magnesium.
- **Exposure:** South-east facing in the Agliano Terme vineyard, north-west facing in the Montegrosso d'Asti vineyard, at about 230 metres above sea level.
- **Harvest:** Hand-picked.
- **Vineyard planting:** Guyot-trained.
- **Vinification:** Soft pressing, fermentation of the free-run must for 12 to 15 days, 20% of it in new barrel and the rest in steel tanks. The wine rests on its own lees for an average of 3 to 4 months in steel tanks.
