## Summary

Barolo DOCG 'Amalia', the 2019 vintage, from a very steep vineyard in Perno (Monforte d'Alba), fermented in steel and aged in tonneaux or a large oak barrel.

## Tasting notes

A fairly bright, rather intense brownish red for a Nebbiolo. Earthy but restrained on the nose, where a note of dried fruit (walnut) is shadowed by mineral and resinous character. A surprising contrast on the palate: immediate sweetness of small red fruit, strawberry and cherry; the tannic weave grips the palate, showing its youth. Still dry with a slightly bitter finish, leaving a full, rustic, genuinely Piedmontese impression.

## Food pairings

Barolo pairs easily with the typical dishes of its territory, but the best match is rich meat dishes, roasts, braises and boiled meats.
