## Summary

Monleale is Cantina di Tortona's Barbera from the clay-sandy soils of the Monleale hill, an area the cooperative singles out for giving Barbera exceptional longevity. The village overlooks the Po plain on the historic transit route between Piemonte, Liguria, Lombardy and Emilia.

## Tasting notes

Cherry colour with a garnet rim. Sour cherry blends with liquorice, plum jam and a hint of undergrowth on the nose. Warm on the palate, wrapped in silky tannins with an acid-savoury balance that makes the wine extremely persistent.
