## Summary

Barolo from the historic Ravera cru in Novello, on mainly calcareous soil with southern exposure, aged 24 months in large Slavonian oak. The producer calls it its classic Barolo and says it is made for long ageing.

## Tasting notes

Brilliant garnet-red with orange highlights. Firm, elegant and potent on the nose, with dog rose, mint and tobacco that turn over time into spices, coffee, licorice, truffle, leather and minerals. Full-bodied and rounded, with plum jam and withered brambles, and a persistent chocolaty aftertaste.

## Food pairings

Braised meats, stewed game, roasts and mature cheeses such as Pecorino and Parmigiano Reggiano.
