## Summary

Carella is one of the historic Ghemme crus, on the second hillside terrace where Neolithic finds dating to the 4th millennium BC have been unearthed among the vines. First vintage 1983; the name is a Celtic-era place-name, 'Carelledunum', meaning the height of Carella.

## Tasting notes

A fine, intense ruby-garnet red, with an intense, persistent, ethereal bouquet. Red fruit on the nose. On the palate a pleasant note of liquorice rises over a structure made elegant by soft tannins.

## Food pairings

Accompanies fine-cuisine meat and game dishes as well as flavourful cheeses. Serve in large glasses, taking care over oxygenation.
